Quick Add
Quick Add is a smart content detection tool on the dashboard. You paste a URL or a line of text, and solyto automatically determines the content type and saves it to the right place — no manual categorization needed.
Opening Quick Add
Section titled “Opening Quick Add”There are two ways to trigger Quick Add:
- Floating action button — Click the FAB in the bottom-right corner of the dashboard.
- Enter key — Press
Enteranywhere on the dashboard when no input field is focused. The Quick Add dialog opens immediately.
How detection works
Section titled “How detection works”When you submit content, solyto analyzes it against a set of rules and assigns a content type with a confidence score.
Todo signals first
Section titled “Todo signals first”If the content contains any of the todo keywords due, repeat, or link:, it is detected as a Todo at 70% confidence — this is checked before URL detection, so a URL with due in it is treated as a todo.
URL detection (95% confidence)
Section titled “URL detection (95% confidence)”URLs are matched against known domains:

Text detection

Confirmation
Section titled “Confirmation”The confidence score decides whether the item is saved directly or needs your confirmation:
- Confidence ≥ 60% — the item is committed automatically, no extra step needed.
- Confidence < 60% — solyto shows you the detected type and asks you to confirm before saving. You can accept it, or choose a different type from the full list of destinations.

Adding a todo
Section titled “Adding a todo”- Open Quick Add
- Type:
Pick up dry cleaning due:tomorrow - solyto detects Todo at 70% confidence and creates a todo due tomorrow
Adding a note
Section titled “Adding a note”- Open Quick Add
- Type:
Meeting notes: client wants to move deadline to March - solyto detects Note at 50% confidence — since this is below 60%, it asks you to confirm before saving
Adding a link
Section titled “Adding a link”- Open Quick Add
- Paste:
https://example.com/some-interesting-article - solyto detects Link at 95% confidence and saves it to your Link Library
Choosing a different type
Section titled “Choosing a different type”If the detected type is wrong, click “No, choose type” in the confirmation screen (or the equivalent option) to open a grid of all supported destinations: music, books, movies, games, links, recipes, plants, quotes, todo, note, feed, and clipboard.
Integration with features
Section titled “Integration with features”Quick Add feeds directly into the features you have enabled:
- Library entries appear in the corresponding library and show up in dashboard release widgets
- Todos show up in the Todos feature and the Due Todos / Scored Todos dashboard widgets
- Notes appear in Notes and the Recent Notes widget
- Links appear in the Link Library and the Newest Links widget
If a feature is disabled in Settings → Features, Quick Add will not offer it as a detected type.
