First Steps
Whether you’re using solyto.app or a local/self-hosted instance, here’s what to do after creating your account.
Onboarding modal
Section titled “Onboarding modal”On your first login, solyto shows an onboarding modal with four steps:
- Welcome — a brief introduction
- Localization — set your language, timezone, date format, and time format
- Features — choose which features to enable in the navigation
- Ready — you’re all set
You can always change these later in Settings.
Welcome tour
Section titled “Welcome tour”After the onboarding modal, a guided tour walks you through each feature you enabled. You can restart it anytime from Settings → App → Restart Tour.
Configure your preferences
Section titled “Configure your preferences”Head to Settings and set up the following:

| Timezone | Settings → Localization | Sets your local timezone for calendar, reminders, and check-in |
| Date format | Settings → Localization | Choose between DD.MM.YYYY, MM/DD/YYYY, YYYY-MM-DD, and more |
| Time format | Settings → Localization | 12-hour or 24-hour clock |
| Theme | Settings → App | Pick from 10 built-in themes |
| Animations | Settings → App | Turn CSS/JS animations on or off |
The weather widget on the dashboard has its own city picker — click the city name to choose your location and toggle °C/°F.
Enable or disable features
Section titled “Enable or disable features”Not every feature is relevant to everyone. Go to Settings → Features and toggle features on or off. Disabled features are hidden from the navigation and the dashboard.
You can always re-enable them later.
Connect the Telegram bot
Section titled “Connect the Telegram bot”The Telegram bot lets you save links and receive a daily digest without opening the app.
- Go to Settings → Notifications
- Click Telegram Bot and copy the unique connection token
- Send the token to the solyto bot on Telegram using
/connect <token> - Your account is linked

Set up CalDAV / CardDAV sync
Section titled “Set up CalDAV / CardDAV sync”If you use an external calendar or contacts app (Apple Calendar, DAVx, Thunderbird, etc.), you can sync via CalDAV and CardDAV.
solyto runs a SabreDAV-compatible server. Connection details are available in Settings → Notifications (or see CalDAV/CardDAV Sync).
Import existing data
Section titled “Import existing data”Moving from another tool? solyto supports importing data from common sources:
- Todos — import from an external source
- Contacts — import from CardDAV (vCard)
- Calendar — import from CalDAV (.ics)
- Music / Books / Movies / Games — import from Deezer, Discogs, Hardcover, Goodreads, IMDb, Steam, BoardGameGeek, and more

Explore
Section titled “Explore”You’re all set. Here are some things to try:
- Add a few todos using the one-line syntax
- Subscribe to an RSS feed in Feeds
- Log today’s mood in Daily Check-In
- Add a book or album to your Libraries
- Start tracking time on a project in Time Tracking
- Send a link to the Telegram bot and watch it appear in your Link Library
