Plant Library
The Plant Library is where you catalogue your houseplants, garden plants, and outdoor plants. Track what you have, where it is, and how to care for it — all in one place.
Adding plants
Section titled “Adding plants”Add plants manually. Fill in the name, location, and care details. Upload a photo so you can see how each plant looked when you added it.
Entry fields
Section titled “Entry fields”Each plant entry includes:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| name | Common name of the plant (optional) |
| latin_name | Scientific / botanical name (optional) |
| location | Indoor, outdoor, or both |
| sunlight | Full sun, partial sun, indirect, or shade |
| current_size | Current size of the plant |
| max_size | Expected maximum size at maturity |

Cover images
Section titled “Cover images”Upload photos of your plants directly. Cover images help you visually identify each plant and track how it changes over time. Unlike other libraries that fetch art automatically, plant photos are uploaded by you.
Care instructions
Section titled “Care instructions”Use the instructions field to note watering frequency, fertilizing schedule, pruning needs, and any other care details. This is a free-text field — write whatever makes sense for each plant.
Common information to track:
- Watering frequency (e.g., “every 3 days in summer, weekly in winter”)
- Fertilizer type and schedule
- Pruning instructions
- Soil preferences
- Humidity requirements
Views and filters
Section titled “Views and filters”Browse your plants in List or Cards views. Filter by location (indoor/outdoor/both) or Unidentified — plants with no name and no latin name. Search by name.
